Cryptomeria japonica
Cryptomeria commonly known as japanese cedar are large evergreen trees with attractive red-brown with dark green foliage and clumpy congested areas of cristate growth (cockscombs) scattered throughout the branches.
Thrives best in deep, fertile, moist but well-drained soil in a sheltered, sunny or partially shaded site.
Handling may cause skin irritation or an allergic reaction.
Mature at about 20 feet
Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly with stand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
