Acer (Skeeter Broom)
Acer a deciduous shrub with five-lobed leaves that emerge bright red in spring, maturing to a deep purple-red in autumn before turning ruby red in autumn.
They Grow best in a moist but well-drained soil. Water regularly, Leaf colour is best in partial shade although full sun can be tolerated.
They prefer neutral to acid conditions and dislike extremely alkaline soil and shallow chalk.
